Announcing Our Lost Love Contest

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, our thoughts are turning to our own true loves and what we can write to them or give to them to mark that special day for lovers.

But for some people, Valentine’s Day is also a day to remember those lovers who are no longer with us, for whatever reason.

In that vein, today marks the arrival of the latest exciting contest (our fourth!) on Five More Minutes With—a contest to find the most inspiring story about a lost love.

Many of us remember an old high-school boyfriend or girlfriend (even a childhood sweetheart!) who is no longer in our lives, be they departed or simply out of contact over the years and miles.

And many of us sometimes secretly (or not so secretly) fantasize about that person. . .and wonder where they are now, what they look like, what type of life they lead, and are they married.

Dare we ask if they still wonder about. . .us?

So today we invite you to take a few minutes and answer the question: What would you say to a lost love if you had five more minutes to spend with them?

For what better way to salute a lover no longer in our lives than to share a lost love story with the Five More Minutes With community?

Those remembrances shared between today and February 13, 2010, will automatically be entered to win a Chukar Cherry Heart Box brimming with a chocolate-cherry quartet including: Amaretto Rainiers, Cherry Bings, Classic Milk, and Cabernet cherries.

Submittal Guidelines:

As always on Five More Minutes With, you are encouraged to explore the site for inspiration, then submit your lost love story.

Think about a happy time you shared with your lost love. Next write a description of that experience and the reason it means so much to you.

Then answer the question: What would you say if you had Five More Minutes With. . .your lost love?

Your lost love story can be of any length. But remember. . .you have just five minutes together!

So I suggest keeping your description to anywhere from two to three sentences and up to 250-300 words (one to one-and-one-half double-spaced typed pages).

Photos are most welcome, and will increase your chances of having your lost love story published and winning a Chukar Cherry Heart Box brimming with a chocolate-cherry quartet including: Amaretto Rainiers, Cherry Bings, Classic Milk, and Cabernet cherries.

Now put on your thinking caps; pull out your pens and pads, iPads or computers; and start sharing memories of your lost love.

Good luck and happy writing to all!
