Life’s Handbook 2012: Happiness

Written by Braiden Rex-Johnson on February 23, 2012

As I mentioned in my previous post, the “Life’s Handbook for 2012” landed in my inbox earlier this month. I think there is a lot of wisdom here, if we just take the time to listen.

The “Handbook” is divided into several sections and 39 points: Health, Personality, Happiness, Society, and Life. My previous post covered Personality. . .so today here is Happiness.

I’ll be posting the “Handbook” section by section, occasionally adding some thoughts of my own, over the next several weeks.

HAPPINESS

19. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. It’s easier to understand and move on.

20. Make peace with your past so it won’t spoil the present. Yesterday is gone and you have a limited number of tomorrows.

21. No one is in charge of your happiness except you. It’s your choice to feel happy or miserable, anger or joy, frustration or acceptance, jealousy or peace, shame or pride.

22. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.

23. Smile and laugh more.

24. You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
